It's Great to be 8 (Months)

We have hit that stage of busyness. Daisy loves to move, preferably with you holding her hands so she can "walk." We love her so!

Easter Festivities

Easter was really early this year. It felt so good to raise the shades in the kitchen and get out all the spring decor. Watson and I tapped into our creative parts and doodled/colored on permanent eggs a couple of weeks straight. I have done pretty good to make something once and a month and put together a pretty doily garland. Bunnies and chicks reminded me of new life and the purpose behind the whole Easter season. Because of Jesus Christ, I can have a new life, any time I want. I just need to trust Him, love Him, and repent. And let him make me into who He knows I can be.

Our egg dying crew was small this year. We usually get together the Friday before Easter. The Smith kids and Watson did a great job being creative and patient with their small egg canvases. I really had fun drawing designs and then dying. I love that we can do this in my kitchen.

Grandma Nettie is the biggest force behind the kids creativity. She is so good at making a way for them to explore and make something unique.

Some of our favorites!

The annual Easter egg and basket hunt at Grandma Nettie's was fun. Daisy was happy to hang out in the antique glider and mouth a plastic egg. All the cousins, minus Chandler, had a great time finding each egg. We also searched for Easter baskets, much to Grandma Nettie's amusement. It doesn't seem to matter how many times we have done this, it still takes over an hour for everyone to find their basket. That Easter Bunny sure is good at hiding things!

I'm so grateful for my sweet kids. They truly bring my so much joy, even in the midst of my own shortcomings and frustration. Watson is growing up fast and I'm so glad Daisy could be a part of our family. We miss Chandler when he isn't home, but are so grateful we can be a family all together.

A VERY Short Spring Break

This year's spring break was the Friday before and the Monday after Easter. We didn't plan much for the time off of school, especially since Chandler wasn't home with us. Aside from Easter activities, we went to see a fun movie with these cutie cousins. It was a good time. Luckily the weather was great so Watson got to spend lots of time playing outside.

Busy Days

Daylight Savings time ended. It is such a rough transition for everyone at our house. Daisy didn't like it too much--but she sure looks cute! Even when crying.
Watson got it one day of spring skiing. He was so excited to dress crazy for the event. He did awesome with his lessons, and he loved it! I'm so proud of him being willing to try something kind of new and stick with it. I can't wait to see how things progress for him next season. It was also great that he got to spend one on one time with Dad each Saturday.

Each ski day WORE HIM OUT!
Challey and Spencer got to go to Disneyland alone for Spencer's 40th birthday. We got to entertain London one of the days they were away. Watson and London had a great time making up games and other activities to be entertained. This was one of their favorites. Couch cushions were made to be soft landing spots, right? I love that Watson gets to spend so much time with cousins close by, and that he gets along so well with each one of them. He's a friendly little guy.

Chubby Cheeks and a Lost Tooth

I'm mildly obsessed with this girl's eating habits. Something inside of me craves to see her get chubbier and chubbier. She tries and mostly eats anything I give her. I love that she is so adventurous and hope this is just part of her personality. Her cheeks are completely smoochable at all times. The rolls are slowly appearing on her arms and legs. I love it. This baby stage comes and goes SO FAST! I really just want to savor each moment with her.

On the not so baby phase side of life, Watson lost his first tooth! Literally lost it. We went to a movie with cousins, enjoyed the show and popcorn. After the movie we had a little cheeseburger lunch. That's when I noticed his tooth was gone. Maybe he swallowed it? We aren't quite sure. It was painless for him and a surprise for both of us.

Provo City Center Temple

Watson, Daisy and I made it to the open house for the Provo City Center Temple this week. I think this is Watson's third temple open house. This place is incredibly beautiful and peaceful. The whole story behind the making of this temple is amazing. An accidental fire caused the entire interior to burn. This building already had so much history and meaning to the people in Provo and when it was destroyed it was really sad. When President Monson announced it would become a temple, many were so happy the building wouldn't be completely lost. Not only was the exterior saved and preserved but now it would become the House of the Lord. Watson had so many questions as we walked through a lot of the temple's rooms. He remembered the baptismal font from previous temples he's been through. My favorite rooms to talk with him about were the sealing rooms. I love to be in the temple and I felt like I really need to look toward making it happen more often. In the meantime, I will try harder to make our home a temple of the Lord.
