A Little Date

My cute hubby and I enjoyed a night out with moonlight and music. We went to a little show at Thanksgiving Point with Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband. It was a great way to end the summer and spend a little one on one time together. It reminded me a little of our dating days. Look how handsome he is...

Outdoor Fun

About a year ago, thanks to Facebook, I reconnected with a college freshman friend. Lucky for me Liz is still the same fantastic person now as she was so long ago. And, she has a little boy a few weeks older (though quite a bit taller) than Watson! We have had a chance to spend some time together throughout the year and it is always a good time. We were able to fit in a couple of hikes in September. Watson and Thor have fun together no matter where we are:

I am sure they will be super heroes together someday.
Watson hiked and hiked on a trail at the top of the Snowbird tram ride. We had a little picnic almost made it to the top of Mt. Baldy. I didn't bring the backpack, though, and got a pretty good workout carrying Mr. W most of the way back to the tram. If he could, he would sit at the top of a mountain and throw rocks all day.

Let's Play!

Watson has been itching to do something the big kids do--we decided to try a little soccer. I guess 3 is a little young for the sport so there aren't many teams to choose from. Little Kickers was available with once a week sessions. Watson got a cute little uniform and his own soccer ball. Coaches Ollie and David taught him to do "tiny" kicks and control the ball. They played games like the ball was a car driving around with red, yellow, and green lights. Watson got to practice kicking the ball into the goal and really attached to the skill of not using his hands. Coach Ollie was from England and Coach David Scotland. Their accents were enough to keep him interested and they were great to play with him. He liked it but got a little restless about not being able to kick the ball really hard. He listened really well and stayed with the group during the games. He will be ready for the big leagues come spring!

He's At Again

Yes, Chandler is holding 4, count them, 4 merit badges and his 1st class. He did awesome at Scout camp this summer. I'm grateful he is moving along toward his goal of Eagle Scout.

Thrilling THREE

It's true, he has grown up this past year.  He loves to be the boss, even though I tell him I'm the boss all the time, and he can do practically anything he wants all by himself. He loves to spend time at Grandma Nettie's, play with his cars, dance, and drink chocolate milk. He has grown to love honey only sandwiches cut into shapes but won't touch french toast. He loves to wrestle with Chandler and does everything he can to be just like him. Dad is his favorite person to be with, night or day. He never tires of Dad's nightly "dinosaur stories" and has begun making up the premise of them himself. He makes me laugh and be crazy every day and I am thankful for it always. I don't know if I can keep up with his amazing creativity and energy but I am really trying.

We celebrated his big "3" at Grandma Nettie's with the family. Although the theme was "Cars" the Hulk crashed the fun and kept all the kids busy. We got to play a few games:
Opened a few presents:
Ate some cupcakes:

The biggest hit of the party for Watson was getting his own tractor to drive around town--ok, mostly the yard, sidewalk and driveway.
It has quickly become one of his favorite things. (Thanks Spencer and Challey and Stratton and Paris!)
We continued his birthday celebration the next day. Watson got a little adventure to Jungle Jim's with his buddy, Thor. Lucky for us we practically had the playground to ourselves.

Of course Watson loved driving as many vehicles as possible. He had a ball. We're glad Thor and his mom could join us in the fun. That night we celebrated at home again with just our little family. More balloons, cupcakes, and presents.

I love this little boy more than I can say. I love that he is so full of energy, and enthusiasm and knows what he likes. I love that he understands things so quickly and makes connections on his own. I love that he wants to be with me all day long. I love to tuck him in at night and kiss his sweet cheeks a gazillion times so he wipes them off to get kissed all over again. Thrilling 3 is what's happening right now and I really want to enjoy all of it. Look at that face, how could I not?
