Sweet Daisy, 7 Months

Daisy is growing so much! She can roll to her tummy, and back to her back. She does forget she can roll back over, though, and squawks quite a bit when on her tummy. She likes to stand more than anything else. She smiles a lot and will laugh at the silliest things. I've become her favorite and she doesn't like me to be out of sight. We are working on that one. Hopefully this phase doesn't last long. Date nights aren't very fun as she cries most of the time we leave her with Grandma Nettie. She's a cutie and we love her so!

My Sweetheart

Somebody posted this picture of Scott on Facebook a few days ago. Look at that cute 14 year old (I think) stud racing! These were good days for Scott. Racing and bikes were the only thing that really brought peace to him. I love to see little glimpses of who he was so long ago. I can start to understand how he became the man he is today. I love him.
He brought this beautiful bouquet back for me after a little trip. It helped me feel hopeful about Spring being just around the corner.

Working on Being a Pro

We signed Watson up for ski lessons again this season. Five Saturdays are spent on the slopes at Brighton. Watson's first Saturday was a bit of comedy of errors on my part. Scott was in Durango for the Skibike Association yearly get together so I handled the first lesson on my own. After a frustrating time of trying to find a parking spot, not getting Watson's ski boots to fit, and Daisy being very unhappy--we worked it out. Watson did make it to his lesson, although an hour late, and had a great time. Lessons were learned on my part and I felt very grateful that we could make it work, eventually. Watson's instructor said he had a great attitude. The following Saturday skiing has been managed by Scott. He has skied with Watson in the morning and then dropped him off to lessons in the afternoon. Every Saturday evening Watson comes home excited to talk about how he did during the day. He has moved through levels each week and continues to have a fantastic attitude. I'm so proud of him!

Our first week of lessons was celebrated with dinner out at Zupas. Daisy sat in a high chair like a big girl and munched on bread. She is wearing her back up outfit of the day (one of baby Watson's) due to a mess while at the ski resort.
One happy kid, he's so cute!

Midway Ice Castles

We fit in a little trip to Midway for some real ice castles. It's amazing what people can create! Watson and his friend, Cache, had a great time exploring every nook and cranny. One of their favorite parts was the slide. Unfortunately we visited near the end of the season and some of the bigger structures had begun to melt... The colors were beautiful and the lights were so cool.

Valentine's and Such

February has meant a lot of family love time around our house. Scott has created a new way to calm down Daisy and sometimes lull her to sleep. It's called "The Magic Carpet Ride." Watson loves it too, but much much faster. We love Dad and his good ideas.
Daisy is working on solid foods, a little at a time. We are trying Baby Led Weaning. She eats pretty much what we eat. She is definitely interested and I've realized we don't eat vegetables frequently enough.
Watson had a great time at his class Valentine's party. He shared Tootsie Pops and animal glasses. He is the cutest little Valentine.

I did fit in a little sugar cookie decorating. Challey held her annual party and I had a great time decorating and chatting with great women.

Daisy was my sweetest Valentine. I couldn't resist this little top. She is soooo kissable! Those cheeks!

Chandler was asked to the high school Sweethearts dance by Karlee. He said it was really fun. This may be his first official date?  A few months before he is 16. I can't believe it. Time has passed so quickly!

Off Track Shenanigans

Round 2 of being off track. I kind of like Watson having a break from school every eight weeks. But, I do put a lot of pressure on myself to make sure we do fun things. This time is, after all, part of his vacation. I mean, he will be in school until middle of June, first part of July. We tried to squeeze in as much fun as I could handle in three weeks. There was quite a bit of hanging out, in zippy pajamas watching Netflix while doing heater trips. But there were some fun outings too.Thankfully Daisy is settling into a decent nap schedule, which is great. But, it does create a challenge for getting out of the house in between her two naps.

I promised to take Watson to the Lego store to spend his gift card from Grandpa Hoopes. He picked some cool Nexo Knights. I love to watch him build stuff. Chandler was the same way at this age.

Daisy has been practicing sitting up and continues to try different foods. She seems uncertain but willing.
I spent some time drawing with Watson. I think I might frame my mini family portraits. It was fun to be a little artistic.

Daisy is ready for some cold outside time. I'm thankful she is so easy going!

We made it to the Museum of Natural Curiosity with some friends. Watson had a great time exploring with a few of his buddies and Daisy sat at the water table like a big girl!

Scott helped Watson to get a Kylo Ren light Saber and dressed up in full costume when he delivered it to him. Here's the life size version, with Watson as the mini.

I love dressing Daisy up in festive Valentine apparel. She is the cutest! Watson is pretty cute too, decked out in his love red clothes.

We made it to the STEMfest too. It was fun to see the different science/engineer stuff. Watson had a great time.

One of our last things we checked off the "Off track Bucket List" was a day trip. We headed to Ogden to visit the Children's Treehouse Museum. It was AMAZING! Watson had so much fun. There was so much to do. We don't get up that direction very often so when we do I love to see my cousin Natalie. We met her for lunch and had so much fun catching up.

We had a good time on the break but I'm ready (and I'm sure Watson is too) for school to start again.
