Preschool, Round 2

Watson missed the Kindergarten deadline by four days, probably a blessing in disguise. So, he is attending preschool for a second year. This year was a little more challenging to decide where he should attend. We finally settled on the new Summit Academy in Bluffdale. Three days a week, for three hours each day he is taught by Miss Barb and Ms. Kayla. We started off his day with his favorite pancakes and other good stuff.

When we got to school on Monday we found out it actually started on the previous Friday. We also found out he needed uniforms. Not what I had in mind but I'm hoping everything else runs smoothly and he has a great time! I can't believe he is so big. It is really bittersweet.

Last Night of Our Summer

The summer time flies by. We really do try to pack as much in as possible, especially because we get Chandler all to ourselves for nine weeks. But, it always feels like we haven't gotten quite enough time together by the time he has to leave again. We had one last outing to the new Living Planet Aquarium. It was bigger and a little cooler than the old one.

I was told I wasn't allowed to take any pictures of Chandler. He was done and I mostly got his hand, like I was a stalking paparazzi or something. Teenagers.
Later on we met up with our neighbors for a friendly game of kickball at the Elementary school. It was a fun way to end our time together.

We are sad to see Summer end but much more sad to see Chandler go.

Grandma Nettie

This past Christmas we gave Grandma Nettie a gift certificate to have her portrait done with all the grandkids. It was slightly crazy to have everyone together. But, we had a good time. I love how happy she is in the middle with all her grandkids. She is a fantastic grandma and we love her so!

One of our Favorites

We love our Bear Lake trip tradition. We have gone almost every year for the last eight! It is always so fun to be with cousins all day long for at least four days. We tend to go at the end of summer and the water temperature is perfect, even though the weather outside usually is not. We have stayed at the same cabin most of the time we have gone. It is big enough and comfortable enough to make the trip really pretty relaxing. There is always good food to eat--usually too much of it. We love to spend time at the North Beach and to spend evenings playing games and watching movies. We missed Tori and Brooklyn and Chad and Spencer this year. But, it was worth the time and effort to spend this time together.

This is his "tough" face, I think. He and Stratton built a Hot Tub this time around.

On our way home we drove through Preston, ID. It is the birthplace of Napoleon Dynamite. We stopped at all the spots from the movie and I even offered Chandler a haircut at the Cuttin' Corral. He declined but did enjoy his burger and shake from the Burger Place...
