1st Birthday Bash

Our sweet, miracle baby girl turned ONE! She is truly the greatest sunshine in our family. She loves her brothers fully and is my constant shadow. Dad is a favorite and she whispers his name, Da Da, all day long. She has a ready smile for anyone who wants her attention and lights up if there is a puppy around. She is a pro at climbing up stairs and is working on going down backwards. She loves watermelon and guacamole and cucumbers. She loves to crawl and play on the piano and one of her favorite "toys" are anyone's socks and shoes. We threw a celebration to commemorate this amazing year. We are so grateful for the many friends and family who have supported and loved us this past year.

I made Daisy's cake and loved to see her dig in. She is the sweetest girl and I love her so much.

Our beautiful blue eyed girl, and cake.

Daisy got lots of fun gifts and loved the books and new baby doll. One of her favorite activities was to crawl around, throw and then retrieve her plastic cup. She loved having everyone celebrate her.

The cake was really good! I couldn't let it go to waste, but I did share it with Challey and Shelli.

Scott was so excited to celebrate and got a cotton candy machine, popcorn maker and sno cone maker. The kids thought it was fantastic and enjoyed all the festivities.

Daisy's Portrait

To celebrate our sweet Daisy's upcoming 1st birthday we had her pictures taken. She was somewhat cooperative, if I was touching her. Even though it wasn't smooth sailing the whole hour, she was still adorable.  I made her head wrap and I couldn't resist having her wear the tassel romper.

Daisy liked her cake. It helped that we did a practice run once at home. She tasted and ate and was absolutely beautiful. I can't believe my baby girl is almost one. What a year it's been!

Stars and Stripes Forever

Family traditions are the best. I'm so grateful my mom keeps going with the Fourth of July breakfast each year. It's a lot of work but it's a lot of fun. There are always interesting people to talk to, great food to eat and a very wet water fight to end it all. Scott and Watson came prepared in swimsuits and Chandler was a full participant. I kept dry, thanks to sweet Daisy but I doubt I'll be that lucky next year. I love celebrating our country's birth and the freedoms we have. It is such a blessing to live here and now.

We continued with our new tradition of celebrating with our neighbors. There was lots of food, a fun bounce house for the kids and big fireworks everywhere.
Daisy is happiest outside and has figured out she really likes to stand. She is working on walking and seems excited to be more independent soon.

Daisy's best neighbor, Keira on the left, makes her happy.

My Birthday, My Special Day

Scott is really amazing at helping me feel special on my birthday. He is great at keeping secrets and planning special surprises. This year was no different. We met my mom for breakfast at The Egg and I and I got to open my present, a new iPad mini. My very own, not a hand me down... It is perfect for binge watching Gilmore Girls and whipping up new recipes from Pinterest. We then took a drive to a beautiful place for a hike. It was the perfect day. I got to spend all my time with my favorite people doing something I love. Daisy was great and loved getting in the water, even though it was glacier cold! Watson and Chandler threw rocks and I got to take it all in. We had lunch at a fun diner and then headed home, exhausted from our adventure. Lots of people left sweet messages and best wishes and I felt so loved.

My sweet sister, Challey, made special cupcakes, just for me, on Sunday. I was serenaded Happy Birthday by everyone and just felt really grateful.

Getting older isn't really my favorite thing, but I'm grateful for the chance to be loved by so many great people. I'm really blessed with a good family and great friends.
