Just about every where we go, people tell Watson he's so cute. I know I'm a bit biased, but I fully agree with friend and stranger alike. See?

Uh-Oh
Scott had a fantastic mountain biking season. He really got some good time flying down various mountains at speeds I don't even want to know about. During his adventures, he was safe, hardly a scratch. Then, the last day of the season, after the lifts had closed and people started to store their bikes for the winter, he had a bike accident. Watson and he had gone to Park City to bike with the Chamberlains and take advantage of the last of good weather. While riding around the small bike park, doing tricks and such, his foot slipped. He got it caught between his bike and the obstacle. The result, six broken bones and two torn ligaments. It was a pretty severe injury, requiring surgery. Thankfully, Kelly and Brenda were there and helped get him to the Park City Hospital and keep Watson safe and occupied. It took about 10 days after the injury for the swelling to be minor enough to allow surgery. Recovery is happening beautifully, albeit slower than Scott would like. I'm grateful for doctors who are educated and inspired, and friends and family will to help. We expect a full recovery, Scott is working really hard in physical therapy. It just may be a while before he gets to wear two shoes again, or ride his bike.
In the meantime, he has mastered mobility on his knee scooter and continues to push the limit as he rides it along on two wheels. You can't keep a daredevil down. Thankfully.

Halloween Traditions
I love the Halloween season almost as much as the Christmas season. There are so many fun places to go and activities to do! Thankfully, Watson is the perfect age to enjoy everything I suggest. I want to take full advantage of our time together--it goes so fast!
For family night one night, we went to Gardner Village for the Witch Scavenger Hunt. We found all but one pretty easily. Watson thought they were funny but it made him a bit nervous to get too close.
Another thing we do is visit a pumpkin patch. I try to find a small one to support small, local farmers. This one has mini wheel barrows, a short corn maze, and plenty of pumpkins to pick. We found a couple of great ones and lots of tractors!
We also visited Thanksgiving Point's Barnyard Boo. Volunteers help out with games for the kids, a witch has story time, and we even made some goo in Frankensteins lab. The weather was great and running around is always a good thing.

Sharing the Gospel
Watson was asked to give his first Primary talk this month. Of course he said, "Yes!" He is always ready and willing to say something, anywhere, about anything. He and I wrote his little talk but didn't practice. Luckily, he doesn't know much about stage fright, so he was ready to go on Sunday. He stood at the pulpit and repeated what I whispered, showed the right pictures from The Gospel Art Book and ended with his testimony. He did a great job and I'm so proud he is willing to share his testimony.

Fall Fun
Watson and I tried to take full advantage of the beautiful Fall weather. One day we hiked a little with Liz and Thor in Draper's Corner Canyon. The boys were goofy and playful. Thor was incredibly agile in flip flops. It was fantastic to be outside and enjoy the last bit of Autumn colors, sights, and smells. Luckily, we didn't see the rattlesnake someone warned us about. But, we did discover ladybug pupa, which we had recently read about at home. We love spending time with Liz and Thor. It's always an adventure.
This October we made it to Cornbelly's, twice! Once, Scott came and it was a little cold and wet, but fun. The other, Liz and Thor met us there and we made it through the kids corn maze. We love living close to such fun places like Thanksgiving Point. We love being able to continue family traditions and enjoy each of the seasons so thoroughly.

It's Time for SOCCER!
Watson was very excited to play soccer again with Dimple Dell Recreation's outdoor soccer program. He is starting to get the hang of getting the ball and moving it in the right direction. There were mostly boys on his team this time and everybody seemed to know what they were doing. "Thunder, Lightning, Fire" dominated every team they played. He loved it! And, he couldn't wait to put his trophy next to the one he got for playing this past Spring.
