Our Own Paradise

It's finally happening! We are able to start our landscaping. Actually it's been in progress for a couple of years. There have been a lot of hours spent prepping the area for curbing and sod. We brought in tons and tons of dirt and rock. Everything is coming along beautifully. Soon it will be green as far as the eye can see.

Curbing was the final touch before grass.
The sandbox is begging to be played in. We just got back from California and we had to have beach sand at home.

11 Months!

This little cutie keeps on growing. She is crawling everywhere and laughs at just about anything any silly boy does. She chews on everything, with her two tiny bottom teeth.  She is doing great with sleep and we love her happy disposition. We really just love everything about her!

Vacation in Paradise

Flecks of gold were everywhere in the sand. I loved to see them cover Daisy's sweet chubby legs. This was her first time to be in the sand and ocean. I loved to watch her discover everything for the first time. It brought back memories of Chandler being in this same water eight years ago and Watson four years ago. It has become a tradition to bring our babies to this beach for their ocean introduction. It is the perfect place. This trip was really one of the best we've had as a family. We love to visit Southern California, especially with the kids. Although the temperatures were a little cooler than we expected, everything else was practically perfect.

The boys did a little boogie boarding and we splashed in the water and had lots of fun in the sand.

We visited the Boardwalk too. We missed all the hustle and bustle due to school not being out yet, but still had fun.

Daisy was a good sport through it all and loved to see all the different sights. One of her favorite parts of the trip might have been the daily donut taste tests. There are a million donut shops in Newport Beach! Who am I kidding, I didn't give Daisy any donuts. I think Scott did, though. At least once. The boys were kind of sick of our treat stops by the third day. We found some delicious buttermilk old fashioneds though.
Our second day was spent at Crystal Cove. The boys body surfed and Watson had a little run in with a rock. Luckily the lifeguard was paying attention and made sure he was safe. I was distracted with Daisy's cute walking antics in the water. We did get a little "talking to" from the lifeguard and then proceeded to nurse our pride with shakes and fries from Ruby's Diner. Daisy loved playing in the sand and Chandler was a regular fish, like normal.

We managed to squeeze a game in at Angel's Stadium. Watson was in heaven. The Salt Lake Bees are the farm team for the Angels so of course we had to go. There was an added bonus of a Flo Rida concert after the game. Chandler was excited about this. It was pretty good but the funny thing was Chandler trying to find a way for me to recognize some of Flo Rida's music.
We took a break from the beach and spent a day at Knottsberry Farm.  We loved riding the roller coasters and spent some time on kiddie rides.

Our last day in Paradise was spent at Corona Del Mar. The weather was perfect and the kids loved it all. We had a great adventure together and it was the perfect way to kick off our summer vacation.

Tori is The First

There is definitely a benefit to the firstborn niece/nephew. Niece in my case. I feel like I should be at just about everything she does. High school graduation is on that list of accomplishments. Tori made it to this milestone, first threshold to adulthood. Daisy and I witnessed the whole ceremony at the University of Utah auditorium. It was exciting to be a part of it all for her. I'm so excited to see what other great things she takes on.
