October has been very busy around here. Watson has gone to parties and played with friends and had Cornbelly adventures all month long. The school schedule is year round so he gets a long break every eight weeks. This month was his first of three. We had four weeks to fill with fun and activities. One of his school friends started the break right by hosting a little Halloween party. Watson didn't have a costume because he changed his mind a million times and hadn't committed to anything by party time. He did discover, though, some face painting crayons I bought last year. He had a good time painting his face, and his friends, a few times. The party was fun and I was glad he had some time with school friends. The weather was perfect.
I knew he would be off track during October so I got a deal on a season pass for the both of us. It allowed us to get out of the house and do something fun and active. We took full advantage and went at least once a week. The weather was great most of the time and it was fantastic to be able to spend a little bit of time with friends too.
Watson really does think he's a teenager sometimes. |
Daisy was a champ being carted around for hours. She was content in the carrier or her stroller. I am so thankful she was willing to be so easy going about our adventures.
Grandma Nettie had a cute witch hat for Daisy's Halloween costume. She made the most perfect little witch ever! I made a tutu to go along and she let me dress her up a couple of times without much complaint.
We kept up Fall tradition by visiting Gardner Village and completing the Witch Scavenger Hunt. It's funny to see Watson get more nervous around the witches as he gets older. We love finding them all.
Of course we visited a pumpkin patch nearby to choose just the right pumpkins to carve. Watson "drove" as many tractors as he could find and Daisy just hung out with me. The warm weather made it so easy to go places and do fun things together.
Our annual Hoopes Pumpkin Carving party was a bit smaller this year. We missed Challey and her family, Chandler, and Tori and Brooklyn. The kids were cute in their costumes and pumpkin carving was fun.
We stocked up one more bag of candy before Halloween. I think it's funny how interested Daisy seems to be. Next year, Babe, you can have chocolate.
